Shahi Paneer Rice is our one-plate answer to a busy Brampton lunch. Paneer cubes in a mild, creamy tomato and cashew gravy come ladled over hot basmati rice — no sides to order, no sharing plates to juggle, just a full meal in a single box.
Shahi means royal, and the gravy earns the name. Onion and cashew are simmered soft and blended to a velvet base, tomato brings a gentle sweetness, and a small amount of cream and green cardamom finishes it. Unlike a karahi masala it is smooth all the way through, which is exactly what makes it work spooned over rice rather than mopped up with bread.
Pairing it with basmati was a deliberate choice. The rice takes the gravy without turning to paste, keeps its perfume, and travels far better than bread does on a delivery run. It has quietly become one of the most-ordered lunch items on our menu for workers around Bram Court and the Bramalea industrial area.
The kitchen keeps the rice and the gravy ready separately through the lunch rush, so a Shahi Paneer Rice plate is usually out within fifteen minutes. Call ahead on your way over and it will be boxed and waiting — useful if you only have half an hour.
Add a butter naan if you want bread as well, or a side of raita to cut the richness. Ordering for two? Pair it with Karahi Paneer for spice, or with Chicken Biryani for a mixed veg and non-veg table.

“I get this for lunch most weeks. Ready fast, portion is filling, and the gravy is properly creamy rather than watered down. Great value for a full plate.”

“Lovely mild curry over really good rice. I do not eat much spice and this was perfect. The paneer was soft, not chewy at all.”

“Ordered ten of these for the office. Everything arrived hot and packed properly, and even the colleagues who had never tried Indian food finished theirs.”
