Papdi Chaat in Brampton

Guest favourite at Friendz Dhaba

Papdi Chaat is the plate that lands on the table first and disappears fastest. Crisp flour wafers are piled with boiled potato and chickpeas, spooned over with chilled yogurt, then finished with sweet tamarind chutney, green chutney, roasted cumin and fresh coriander.

About Our Papdi Chaat

This is North Indian street food, the plate you find at every busy corner stall from Delhi to Amritsar, and the trick is assembly. The papdi is built at the last second — long enough for the chutneys to soak in at the edges, short enough that the wafers still snap. Assemble it a minute too early and you have soggy crisps in yogurt; get it right and every bite has crunch under the cool.

The plate balances four things at once: tamarind for sweetness, green chutney for heat, chilled yogurt for the cool and roasted cumin and chaat masala for the tang that ties it together. It is fully vegetarian, it is one of the most shared items on our menu, and it is exactly what you want with a late evening order.

Built to Order, Assembled at the Last Second

We do not pre-build batches and hold them — the yogurt and chutney would soften the papdi straight through. Each plate is assembled when it is called, which is why it comes out of the kitchen fast and still crunchy. On takeout orders we pack the wafers and the wet toppings separately so nothing goes limp on the drive.

What to Order With Papdi Chaat

It is a starter, so keep the main course rich to contrast: Butter Chicken with naan, or Chicken Biryani for a bigger group. Add Chicken 65 and you have a full sharing table for friends.

What Guests Say About Our Papdi Chaat

Nikhil S.

Bramalea Woods

“Still crunchy after the drive home, which almost never happens with chaat. Sweet, tangy and properly spiced. We order two plates now because one is never enough.”

“Great sharing snack. Not too sweet, real chutney flavour behind it, and a big plate for the price. Good vegetarian option for our group too.”

Call (365) 355-3303

Is Papdi Chaat vegetarian?

+

Yes. Papdi chaat is made from wheat wafers, potato, chickpeas, yogurt and chutneys with no meat, though the yogurt means it is not vegan.

How spicy is Papdi Chaat?

+

It sits between sweet and tangy — the tamarind lands first and the green chutney follows with a gentle kick. Most guests find it mild, and we can add extra green chutney if you want more heat.

Does it stay crispy for takeout?

+

It travels better than most chaat because we pack the wafers separately from the yogurt and chutneys. It is still at its best within about fifteen minutes of leaving the kitchen.

Do you serve Papdi Chaat late at night?

+

Yes — we are open until 11:30 PM seven days a week, so it is available right through the evening for dine-in, pickup and delivery across Brampton.
